Reptiles

What Makes It A Reptile?

Reptiles are animals that have thick skin, sometimes like armor. Unlike amphibians, they have lungs, and cannot breathe underwater. They are cold-blooded, which means that their bodies are the same temperature as what's around them.  Some examples of reptiles are snakes, turtles and tortoises, geckos, chameleons, and crocodiles and alligators. Why Do Chameleons Change Colors?

Chameleons don't change colors to blend in. the reason that they change colors is because of their mood. If they're happy, they turn bright colors. If they are scared, they turn dark. if they find a companion, they show off. How do they do it? If you want to learn more in depth about how they do it, read my book HERE

Is It A Turtle Or A Tortoise?

Do I have a turtle, or a tortoise? The first thing you should look at is their feet. The tortoise has a foot sort of like a stump, while the turtle has a webbed foot. The next thing you should look at is their shell. The tortoise has a very tall, big, and rounded shell, while the turtle has a very small, sleek, smooth shell. Also, turtles cannot usually fit into their shell, while tortoises can usually fit easily. another thing is, if you see one in the water or close to it, then it's a turtle. if you see one far from water, it's a tortoise. if you want to read more in depth, then go HERE
